This article is very in line with my own thinking -- policy makers ought to make an effort to include scientists in more of their decision making. But I would also argue that the converse is true: scientists ought to do a better job of communicating their work and its implications to the policy world. Both sides need help and fast if the US is to remain a leader in the global economy. Green technology may provide the perfect opportunity to give us a boost. Now if only our nation's leaders had the foresight to push this opportunity...
